National Informatics Centre (NIC), established in 1976, is the premier science and technology organization under Government of India and majorly works for informatics services and information and communication technology (ICT) applications. It plays a pivotal role in steering e-governmental departments at national, state and district levels. Part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it enables improvement and wider transparency in government services.

NIC was looking for a tool to support all levels of workloads and provide secure, stable and consistent foundation across hybrid cloud and Data Centre deployments Their top challenge included operational flexibility while cost cutting was their major concern. We provided them with REDHAT Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solutions to cater to this requirement.

The customer was able to provide multiple web versions to multiple users as it had built-in management components which comes with a user-friendly web console.   The main feature which attracted the customers’ interest was that RHEL is open source which means we can view its source code, download it and make their own customized versions.
